Everywhere around us we constantly hear about how great fiber is. How fiber is our friend. How it's essential for us to poop. How it helps us lose weigh. How it lowers risk of colon cancer. Yada yada yada. 

These are all quite unfounded claims, with plenty of evidence to counter them.
